meet our physiotherapist - amee

Amee has been practicing as a physiotherapist for the 14 years, the last 10 of which have been primarily in continence and pelvic health roles in Perth, Bunbury and Busselton. After completing a post-graduate certificate in Manual Therapy in 2009, Amee became curious about the complex interactions around the lumbo-pelvic and hip regions. This led to the long road to complete her Clinical Masters (Continence and Women’s Health) to understand more about the pelvic floor and all that relates to it. In between private practice roles, Amee spent a year working for the Continence Foundation of Australia, educating and connecting groups around WA promoting continence health.  Amee also had the opportunity to work with female prisoners over several years, and this lead to the development of her research project which is currently awaiting publication. Amee’s work roles have included several specialised continence and pelvic health physiotherapist roles in private clinics and public hospitals, including Fiona Stanley Hospital, St John of God Midland and Maylands, and Bunbury Regional Hospital.

Always keen to leave the city, the opportunity finally arose 4 years ago to move south and join the team at Bunbury Regional Hospital. Branching into private practice in Busselton Amee has enjoyed consulting with a range of people from around the South West and continues to aim to bridge the service gap between country and metropolitan continence and pain services. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Amee roaming her garden with her 3 young children, racing snails, playing hockey or paddling at the beach whenever possible.
